Married to a doctor - mother of one son - stepmother to another - we live in a beautiful home nestled at the foothills - The "boys" enjoy golf - my athletic sport is shopping and we can't forget walking our dog, Polo - however, our most precious times are around the kitchen table having a Bible study.

What is this site about? Well, here is what it is not... It is not to influence you to buy real estate. It is not to pressure you into becoming a Christian. It is not a way to manipulate God within the business industry. Simply, it is about sharing. One overlooked facet about real estate involves the personal stresses that people assume when moving from one home to another, and for many, from relocating from one state to another. That is why our family shares personally with those who are trying to connect with this new community. Purely as an option, you are welcome to comb through my husband's journal entries about faith, and hopefully, his personal insights may provide you with some encouragement.

For those who suffer from chronic pain or fatigue or depression, the smallest of problems and/or tasks and/or inconveniences can seem like an arduous mountain to climb. And if our problems happen to get bigger than our limited abilities, then we try to devise even larger plans to rectify our situations. Whenever I make things more complex than need be because of my restrictions, then I become immobilized, then I procrastinate, then I make even more grandiose plans, trying to project how I can take care of the situation even more effectively. Typically, nothing ever gets resolved, except mental clutter, senseless excuses and guilt. When dealing with chronic pain, this has been a cyclic pattern for me. That is how my weight floated up to 220 pounds, forty more than needed for my frame and chronic pain condition. My inability to exercise and to deal with my health in terms of how I had previously taken care of myself left me feeling hopeless about my body, or for that matter, what I should be doing with my life. It is often thought that big problems require big solutions. In reality, God reacquainted me with the fact that small steps can carry great distances. This simple point has been pivotal in my most recent weight loss of 45 pounds and has empowered me to walk in a transformed life. The epistles of Paul have helped focus my mind and body on doing the ordinary things with immense conviction. Hope in Christ and in practical change have now become realities.

Let’s get passed some of the elementary truths about our salvation. Yes, salvation is the greatest gift that we can receive from God. I do not want anyone to think that I diminish this fact of love about God. But if belabor on this point and do not yield to the momentum and rhythm of the Holy Spirit, then our lives can oftentimes feel stagnant and fragmented from a true relationship with God. God’s grace does extend in our past provision of salvation through Christ. Yet, it moves forward, in which we can walk in a manner worthy of the second coming of Christ. It is through this momentum of the Spirit that we are guided in faith with boldness and confidence about the eternal purpose for our lives. In essence, the sound doctrine of faith motivates us to do good works. And in turn, our lives become instruments in which to glorify God. May all of us continue to fight the good fight of faith, finish the race well, avoid lukewarmness, making our election and call sure before Him.

Back-biting, gossip and criticism are rampant within the church today. It seems like Christians thrive on throwing other Christians into the lion’s den. What is there to be done when matters of difference cannot be solved between two, then on a second meeting, three Christians? Aren’t we supposed to stone those who have wronged us with some measure of forgiveness? As Jesus mentioned in His gospels, oftentimes our enemies are within our own household. He has taught us to walk in love. Most of us think that we already walk in love. But I contend that most Christians do not do so. We tend to express love on the basis of our own ability and merit. The love of God is transcendent and yet, within us. It is something beyond our thinking. It is something beyond our own human capacity. It is richly steeped in the centrality of Jesus Christ. Ponder this thought for a moment. We must be open and responsive to the light we have, and we must also recognize that those who are Christians, regardless of their levels of maturity, also have within them this same light of God. As each of us is a member of the Body of Christ, we must be persuaded to walk in love by the light of God within us, which increases as we grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ and His will. When remaining steadfast on this course, our tendency to resolve conflict and to live in reconciliation will precede our desires to prove ourselves correct in the heat of conflict.
