Married to a doctor - mother of one son - stepmother to another - we live in a beautiful home nestled at the foothills - The "boys" enjoy golf - my athletic sport is shopping and we can't forget walking our dog, Polo - however, our most precious times are around the kitchen table having a Bible study.
What is this site about? Well, here is what it is not... It is not to influence you to buy real estate. It is not to pressure you into becoming a Christian. It is not a way to manipulate God within the business industry. Simply, it is about sharing. One overlooked facet about real estate involves the personal stresses that people assume when moving from one home to another, and for many, from relocating from one state to another. That is why our family shares personally with those who are trying to connect with this new community. Purely as an option, you are welcome to comb through my husband's journal entries about faith, and hopefully, his personal insights may provide you with some encouragement.
With a compassionate expression, I say, "Jesus - You are my King!"

Like the blind man who can see but still remains physically afflicted with blindness (December 6th journal entry), this is similar to what I have endured for the past fourteen years with chronic pain. Pain makes every attempt to dominate my entire being – what I say, what I feel, what I think and what I can do. And more oftentimes, pain tries to distort my impressions about an infallible God. I have undergone just about every type of therapy possible to rid my body of chronic pain, including the spiritual remedies of prayer and the use of anointing oil by the elders within the Body of Christ. Nothing has had a long-lasting effect. Has Jesus passed by me for someone else in more need? Or do I not have enough faith to be healed? Nonsense. In my circumstance, the Lord has impressed upon me the following verses from scripture, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:1-2, ESV). It is the will of God for me to present my body as a living sacrifice to God, and in my case, meaning that I must maximize my health for the whole body, including mind, will and emotions. In essence, this is the practical application of holiness, developing the mindset of Christ and giving oneself fully to the service of God. Although I have lost 22 lbs. since September 1st, the more amazing thing that has happened to me is that other areas of me are developing and pain is not the predominant feature of my being right now. It is like the blind man who can see but still deals with blindness…

Besides being the atonement for sin, we know that Jesus also came to make the lame man walk and the blind man to see. Then why do we not see very many miracles of healing today? Sure we hear of plenty of extraordinary stories, but are we hearing things that may be extra-biblical or perhaps suited to one’s own interpretation of what a miracle is? There are some Christian denominations that believe that the healing gifts are inoperative today. I do not buy into this belief system. When I practiced as a chiropractor, I saw several people healed from organic, pathologic conditions that could only be explained as an intervention by God. Personally, I believe that Jesus Christ only healed one from disease based upon the promptings from God the Father. That is the kind of relationship that I strive for with Him – one with intimate purpose for the heart of God. But back to healing…Not to diminish the wonder of God, I ask another question. How does the blind man see when he still remains physically blind? The blind man that can see, who still remains blind, is one that has developed his other senses to a point that he can clearly navigate with little to no assistance. His hearing is astute. His ability to smell is punctuated. His perception of depth and distance is pronounced. Faith to grow inwardly in confidence is brutally tested. The other senses compensate for his apparent weakness of blindness. If he is a Christian, can you imagine the inner depth of connection that he personally has with God? It must be incredible! When contemplating over the concept of healing, I encourage you to realize that true healing first begins spiritually rather than physically. When one is spiritually healed from sin, he can navigate through this life on earth with an eternal perspective. And likewise, if he is not healed physically, then he can develop his other senses toward God and His purpose. “…By His wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24, ESV). In Scripture, Peter used healing as a metaphor for spiritual conversion, not in the context from experiencing a complete amelioration of physical symptoms or afflictions.

Let’s not forget the fulfillment of the law, in which we are required to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is not about comparing the love of God against the ability to love our neighbor. When we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, He empowers us to love others with His love. It is about dying to our own selfish desires and allowing the love of God to be active in our lives toward another. God’s love is beyond our capability of expressing love. It frees man's soul from sin. It is redemptive and fresh. It is real. This is the love that humanity craves. This is the love that was so perfectly demonstrated by Jesus Christ from the cross.

Since September 1st, I have lost 22 lbs. I have found that disciplining my own body, even when experiencing pain, has also caused a renewal of the mind toward the things of God. He has called me into this health transformation, not for vanity purposes, but for the purpose to maximize my health as a testimony of the power of God. The power of God draws the pulse of my life toward Himself.

Since my last entry of October 3rd, I have taken some time off from this journal to glean some fresh perspectives of truth from the Word of God. As I attempted to carve out some time, it seemed like everything else around me underwent severe judgment – notwithstanding the fall of Ted Haggard, now former Senior Pastor of New Life Church. Although I differ with some of the doctrine of the church, I still admired Pastor Ted for his leadership skills, visionary application and apostolic gifts. When he fell, I quickly checked myself to see if I had fallen. My immediate reaction was to look inwardly at my own heart, realizing that each and every one of us who profess the Christian faith continues to deal with sin daily until we are glorified. We are not of this world, but we live in this world. As Christians who hunger for righteousness, it is important to recognize that we are living out the doctrine of sanctification, whereby we need to present our entire beings as a living sacrifice to God…This is our spiritual worship. The spirits of this age want us to conform to the standards of this world and simultaneously, to abandon our relationship with God. Apostasy is rampant in America. The moral decline of Christian leaders and the complacency of faith within the Body of Christ is a wake up call for all of us to make a change toward holiness. Repentance is required. I think many of us have trampled on the mercies of God for too long!

Since September 1st, I have been changing many patterns in my life, including eating habits, walking routines, more regular time in the Word, fasting, taming my own tongue, being more in touch with the Holy Spirit, just to mention a few. It may appear that these practices require much discipline. And they do. This part of my Christian life is not a list of propositions to become godlier or to create a theological system that appears superior to others who profess the Christian faith. However, during this particular season of my walk with the Lord, these practices are vital to my relationship to a resurrected Lord. The commandments God gave us in His Word exist only to bring us closer with Him daily. This is my heart’s desire!

From a message of John Hagee, I was reminded about a salient point about blood. Human blood stains. In fact, it is nearly impossible to get the stain out of your clothing. On the other hand, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all stains, in which we are fully clothed in the resplendid brightness of righteousness. "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool" (Isaiah 1:18, ESV).
