Married to a doctor - mother of one son - stepmother to another - we live in a beautiful home nestled at the foothills - The "boys" enjoy golf - my athletic sport is shopping and we can't forget walking our dog, Polo - however, our most precious times are around the kitchen table having a Bible study.

What is this site about? Well, here is what it is not... It is not to influence you to buy real estate. It is not to pressure you into becoming a Christian. It is not a way to manipulate God within the business industry. Simply, it is about sharing. One overlooked facet about real estate involves the personal stresses that people assume when moving from one home to another, and for many, from relocating from one state to another. That is why our family shares personally with those who are trying to connect with this new community. Purely as an option, you are welcome to comb through my husband's journal entries about faith, and hopefully, his personal insights may provide you with some encouragement.

Regardless of the industry, the number one complaint I hear about from business owners involves the lack of work ethic on the part of the employee, especially from the Christian community. As a result, the business owner finds himself or herself in a quandary, trying to take on too many roles, wearing too many different hats, and in effect, becoming the only reliable “employee” of the company itself. The solution to this ongoing problem is not easy. I find it difficult to simply cast out your cares when the workload is beyond overwhelming. The longer one avoids the work to be done, the larger the pile becomes. I do agree to cast out your cares in order to consecrate your hearts onto Christ. For the Lord is sovereign and is in the midst of this predicament for business owners. He does offer ultimate solutions and continues to transform the minds of our current day leaders. The answers are not necessarily supernatural and seemingly unattainable. The steps to change are multi-faceted. The results are not instantaneous. Business models can be reshaped. We all have to re-prioritize to acclimate during these times. If you are waiting for a miracle, you might be waiting longer than you think. The Lord tells us not to worship the manna, but wait upon Him. “Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:5-7, ESV). This is the first step for the business owner to transform his or her company, breaking the chains of dependence and self-reliance…

Happy Father’s Day…Believe it or not, our identity should not be wrapped up in our ability to conquer, to build, to control, to dominate or to possess. Our identity should be about having a fully devoted life for God the Father through Jesus Christ. And remember fathers, you do not have to take on the entire burdens of business in this world. God is not judging your works on the basis of pure accomplishment or for having positive cash flow. Our works are judged upon our love for Christ and our devotion of faith through doing good deeds. In the end, He actually works through us and thus receives all of the glory. We just need to decrease so that He may increase…

The mystery of God’s will is found through Jesus Christ and the cross. His message is inclusive, both for the Jew and the Gentile. As Christians, we must be careful and not to exclude anyone from becoming an heir of the kingdom of God. In other words, one does not have to behave, belong, and then believe in order to be apart of the Body of Christ. Rather, he or she is required to believe, belong, then behave, in order to become an important link in the whole structure of His holy church.

To forgive somebody is to say one way or another, “You have done something unspeakable, and by all rights I should call it quits between us. Both my pride and principles demand no less. However, although I make no guarantee that I will be able to forget what you’ve done, and though we may carry the scars for life, I refuse to let it stand between us. I still want you for my friend. I can only say this because of the forgiveness that Christ has given me. “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” (Matthew 6:14, NIV).

“O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:30-33, ESV). In principle these verses capture the essence of trading our own appetites for a life of faith, seeking the righteousness of God and living for the kingdom of God. I have heard many pastors speak on these particular verses, emphasizing the “health and wealth name it and claim it without struggles” message and at the same time leaving out some of the core values about living a life of righteousness. Though our family has prospered, it has not occurred in a “struggle-less” way. It has occurred as a result of stepping deeper in faith and giving for the cause of Christ. While living out our righteousness and having our priorities toward the advancement of the kingdom of God, we have experienced the opposite of the popular “health and wealth” message. It has not been a plush ride. We have had to love our enemies, forgive those who wrong us, lend without expecting back, and pray for those who oppose us. The message about living the righteous life for our family is about sacrifice, radical faith and generous giving. As Randall Niles of All About God Ministries states, “it’s all about EROI (Eternal Return on Investment).”

Never mistake the wonderful visions that God gives you for reality, but watch, for after you see the mountaintop vision of God in your life, you will be brought straight down into the valley. As George Barna states, “Success is not necessarily business accomplishment or how much money one earns; rather, it is about obedience to the call of God.”

As the Da Vinci Code hits theatres today so does another wave of deceitfulness against the truth about God and His love for mankind. The generalized condition of the church today is already tiptoeing on the edge of apostasy (wavering in faith). Yet our spiritual enemies, those against the soul of man and his redemption, are fully at work in every stream of life, trying to create hardened and unbelieving hearts. How do we live a holy (having the same mindset of Christ) lifestyle against the onslaught of false information about life? The Book of Hebrews is probably my favorite in the Bible. And pertaining to the blitz of advertisement about the Da Vinci Code, the author of Hebrews offers some sage advise, “Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end” (Hebrews 3:12-14, ESV). I personally encourage all my readers to align their thoughts and intentions with the Word of God, thus forsaking the megaphone voice of this world that attempts to call you to something unintentionally planned for your abundant life…

Jesus has shown us, his apprentices of faith, how to live fruitfully on an infinite time frame. Those who are in Christ will never stop living. Let us sow eternal seeds of faithful living so we may rejoice over a death-conquering God who simply delights in intimate fellowship with mankind. The angels have already witnessed this fact. “You are my Son; today I have become your Father” (Hebrews 1:5, NIV).

The Lord has convicted Cherise and me about Sabbath-Rest. We realize that our lives are so jam-packed with business and activities that we need an eighth day just to get caught up. Sound familiar? It takes faith to enter a Sabbath-Rest. We do not want to be a part of unbelief and disobedience, allowing our hearts to be deceived by sin. Rest in the Christian life means to stop working, to completely rely on God’s promises and full surrender to His will. Please feel free to offer prayers on our behalf about this…We are believing in Wednesday as our day of Sabbath-Rest.

Being a Revolutionary does not mean to separate from the church to follow your own natural instincts, even if you believe that these are spiritually grounded and more mature than the messages preached from the pulpits in our churches. We know that during the End Times, men will have a tendency to rely on their own natural instincts, many of which will be blended with a smorgasbord of worldly ideas and a complacency of faith. But rather we are called to persevere – “…Build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life” (Jude 1:20-21, ESV).

After attending a George Barna Conference this morning in Denver, Colorado, I left with the reaffirmation about my core beliefs about Christianity and the church. Ever since last fall when I read his book entitled, “Revolution,” I instinctively knew that I was a Revolutionary, aspiring to “Be the Church,” not just attending the church. As Barna states, “This revolution is not something you join; it’s a way of life. Jesus made clear that the entrance fee for membership in this club is repentance, obedience, love, and service.” Some of the market research accumulated by Barna regarding the current health of the church is startling. The influence of the church on our society is actually minimal against other factors, such as television, radio, politics and the workplace, just to mention a very few. And for pastors, this research data may even seem threatening and destructive. But this is certainly not the intention of the work being performed. The central theme from research involves transformation, something that occurs when information is gathered and when strategic leadership is aptly applied to ministry. We cannot afford to wait for change to occur in our lives by simply attending church one time per week. We must intentionally grow spiritually as Christians. Too many people are hoping to be changed by God without an effort of faith. Maybe that is why only 9 percent of all born-again adults have a biblical worldview or the fact that around 4 percent of this next generation will attend church? Switching from one church denomination to another is not transformational. But to live in accordance to a biblical worldview is…

Do you ever wonder if God really hears and responds to our prayers – especially in a time of need? Of course you have, it is part of our human nature. I have found that when I take a breather from prayer, it is my own selfish pride that blocks the communication between the infinite God of love and the finite mind of Gordon Selley. These verses offer pearls of wisdom about prayer and God’s response to our needs. “Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place…’” (2 Chronicles 7:12-15, ESV).

Have you ever been asked, “Do you feel ‘spiritual’ today?” My wife asked me this on the last day of the year to pay taxes for 2005. I actually thought about this question posed to me throughout the day. Spiritual is not just something we ought to be. It is something we are and cannot escape, regardless of how we may think about it. It is our nature and destiny because God created us with the innate sense of worship. The real question to consider, “Does our worship of God truly glorify His name?”

For this Easter season, it is my desire that many will encounter the resurrection Christ, and His love for the human project. Easter symbolizes the fact that God has not given up on us, but rather, He is very much there for us continually.

The Jews were the first messengers of the gospel of the Good News, starting with Jesus Christ first. “…we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews” (John 4:22, NIV).

I have heard it spoken about Pope John Paul II that he had a fascinating connection with the youth today. Why and how? Succinctly put, he had the ability to communicate in a thousand different ways a simple message of truth. His theme was that they should not settle for less and should only expect moral and spiritual greatness. This message even transcends the post modern thought of today.

Historically, Jewish weddings have had an emphasis on the bridegroom, as his voice calls out to the bride in order to proceed with the ceremony and to consummate the marriage. The voice of Christ is calling for us today. He is coming back for an unblemished bride, as denoted in the church. When united, we will all experience complete joy. Thank you Jesus for enduring the lowliest of deaths and becoming greater for our benefit in the eternal bonding process of love… The way to fulfillment of all of life’s highest ideals and its deepest longings is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
