Married to a doctor - mother of one son - stepmother to another - we live in a beautiful home nestled at the foothills - The "boys" enjoy golf - my athletic sport is shopping and we can't forget walking our dog, Polo - however, our most precious times are around the kitchen table having a Bible study.

What is this site about? Well, here is what it is not... It is not to influence you to buy real estate. It is not to pressure you into becoming a Christian. It is not a way to manipulate God within the business industry. Simply, it is about sharing. One overlooked facet about real estate involves the personal stresses that people assume when moving from one home to another, and for many, from relocating from one state to another. That is why our family shares personally with those who are trying to connect with this new community. Purely as an option, you are welcome to comb through my husband's journal entries about faith, and hopefully, his personal insights may provide you with some encouragement.

Where is the most important place on earth? Some might say where they can gain the most relaxation, such as Hawaii or some other exclusive island – while others might ponder about some place more exotic that supplies all the needs of human sensation. Perhaps the prosperity and freedom of the United States may appeal too many from foreign lands who crave such things. Regardless, if one has done all that can be done in this world, then a place that feels like home may prove to be the alternate choice to the glamour and glitz of our planetary existence. Isaiah, who prophesied to the southern kingdom of Judah, foretold the answer to this question many years ago. He said, “In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it” (Isaiah 2:2, NIV). Basically, the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem will become the most important place on earth. For all Christians from all nations, it is the glory of the future kingdom to come. I challenge all who read this site to mark their journeys in life toward the most important place on earth. You will find that your life as you know it will shift from what you see to what really exists abundantly through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Freedom marks a territory where forgiveness eventually inhabits” (Selley, 2005). Forgiveness leads to cleansing and restores the environment to reconciliation.

Jesus Christ knows all aspects of our future. Upon the cross, He exhibited this reality when He made a “once-and-for-all-sacrifice” for the sins of all mankind – that means you and me. While hanging on the cross in complete agony, He knew each of our names, even before we were born, and Jesus knew the sins that we would commit in our lives while we live here on this earth. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Once we are saved through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ, then our future of redemption truly begins. It is about living an eternal existence now, though we are being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. So to live a life of faith now in the 21st century, we must begin to have faith in God each and every day. Jesus said, “Have faith in God…I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:22-24, NIV). The spirit of faith is about saying and believing. It is not about a mental argument or assumption of logic. Dig deep into the Word of God, the redemptive life for a prosperous future is about faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

In order to have peace, Jesus Christ had to suffer and make divine sacrifices for us. This process was not magical, instead, it was proactive love. In order for us to find peace, we must actively seek Him. Oswald Chambers states, “Reflecting His peace is proof that you are right with God, because you are exhibiting the freedom to turn your mind to Him.”

It is incredible to think that the Holy Spirit dwells within each of us who have received salvation as a gift from Jesus Christ. Sacrifice continues to be the daily expression of love from the Holy Spirit, who sanctifies us each day.

Do not let the thoughts and images of your past dictate your decision-making about the future. Oftentimes, these images are stagnant and are filled with guilt and failure. This is how sin entangles one to forego the vitality of the promises of God. Fight the fight in your mind. Do not let Satan convince you that you are not purposefully created to serve and worship God. Your past should have very little influence, if at all, on the redemptive future that you were created for…

Within the marketplace, I have spoken to many who have felt the sting of betrayal from their closest workers. Finding those who prove faithful has become an arduous task. King David must have felt the same way. In one of his Psalms, he writes, “As for this friend of mine, he betrayed me; he broke his promises. His words are as smooth as cream, but in his heart is war. His words are as soothing as lotion, but underneath are daggers! Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall” (Psalm 55:20-21, NLT). I pray that the Christian community will step up to the plate with integrity. We are in a time in which those who are observing Christian behavior must be attracted to its excellence in faith. Truth must be real for the outsider…

"I'm reading through the Old Testament at the moment and I must tell you that it's shocking me in my theology. Two main thoughts emerge over and over. Firstly, God is God and He can do what He wants. In the second place, after the garden of Eden people have been cum laude authors of sin and choas" (Smith, 2005)

The weather in Colorado Springs fluctuates quite often. Just this past week, we have experienced unusual high temperatures, then during the late afternoons and evenings, uncontrollable, electrifying lightening and torrential rain have balanced the effects of extreme heat. As I sat on my porch and listened to the outbursts of thunder, followed by the unpredictability of lightening, I was reminded of the superiority and awesome wonder of God. “God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding” (Job 37:5, NIV). This message follows up from my last entry. God is God. He is the creator of all things. Who can counsel him or truly know all of his ways? I do have a reverent fear of the Lord. But sometimes it is easy to forget about his grace, especially during uncontrollable times or in situations where you try to fight against sin with your own efforts. God does not simply punish us when things go awry. Sure there are consequences of sin, and for those who are Christians, the sanctification by the Spirit continues while we wear our flesh. Yet the last part of chapter 37 of Job speaks volumes to my inward being. “The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress” (Job 37:23, NIV).

As you can see, the topic of adversity and suffering is on my mind. Maybe because our family fights through so many deceptive struggles as we continue to draw near to him. We must focus our thinking only on the Word of God and the truth he imparts into our soul. When crisis comes, God’s grace is already there in our circumstances. I find that it is my own human nature that is often lagging in the coping process…

Personally, I have suffered with chronic pain for the past twelve (12) years. Though I have not been totally cured, in the sense of pain amelioration, God has taught me volumes about living a life of patience. At times, I succeed in terms of being patient when circumstances seem unfair or overbearing. And at other times, I fail miserably when trying to deal constantly with ongoing pain. When I fight for the walk of faith, it is not really about pain at all. Instead, it is about succeeding honorably with my present condition. I have come to realize that being patient equates to longsuffering, which is desirable fruit of the Spirit. Patience is not about us having our own way until something changes. It is about putting our faith in God when things seem bleak and unchangeable and without hope. For our hope can only be anchored in the resurrection Christ…Almost forgot – Happy 17th Birthday Jake!

During this past season in business and team building, Cherise and I have learned that our joy really comes from sowing seeds of goodness instead of focusing on the harvest that God so richly gives each and every one of us. Sure the harvest of plentiful soothes one during arduous times, but having a harvest of righteousness comes from one who plants seeds of goodness into other peoples’ lives on this earth. Cherise has had to relinquish total control of her business by delegating various responsibilities to other agents. While it may temporarily feel like the bottom line is less financially for our family, God is expanding our view of how to multiply financial blessings into those who are engaged with our business. What a blessing! “Let us not become weary in doing good… (Galatians 6:9, NIV). “Father, please pour out your favor into our lives. Break up the fallow ground of our hearts. In the name of Jesus, rain righteousness and wisdom upon us. We desire to think bigger and with more confidence about our eternal commission for Your kingdom. Amen.”

“When dissecting the anatomy of giving, sowing in love is not about control or self-gratification. It is about becoming lost in His glory over and over again” (Selley, 2005). What else could one desire more?

“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29, NASB). I need to give people more grace in my conversations. Invariably, either I tend to dominate the conversation intellectually or I try to glean something for myself, perhaps something that will make me feel better. Do you find yourself doing the same? Of course, most people do. But starting today, let us desire to walk in the rhythm of Jesus, not seeking personal edification. Let us no longer grieve the Holy Spirit of God. May the power of the Holy Spirit wash away all bitterness and anger and slander from our hearts. “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32, NASB).

Just spent some time in Charlotte, North Carolina where the relationship between AllAboutGod Ministries and Charlotte Christian School was initiated this past weekend. Even though our children attend the Colorado Springs Christian School in Colorado, I found it remarkable to observe the commitment of the parents in the Charlotte Christian School to the education of their children and the future of the school. Their financial efforts and dedication to prayer reminded me of one of the points of Calvinism, in which the emphasis on the perseverance of the saints is paramount. We are all apart of something bigger, something eternal in which we are only used by God for His plan and His glory. One of my children recently asked, “Is God an arrogant God who just wants our praise?” This is a good question for one who is seeking the character of God. I explained that God’s character is absolute and certain goodness, thus our response becomes more and more automatic in praise of His wondrous love…Thank you to those Board Members and others from Charlotte who extended Southern hospitality. We must remember the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, whereby He became poor so that we might become rich in every way. Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ!

For the past five years, Cherise and I have been on the periphery regarding the emergence of the house church movement in North America. We have many friends, pastors, and missionaries who serve internationally, and the concept of having church among a small group has been quite successful from their perspective. Albeit, there have been difficulties for the pioneers of the home church, trying to rid the guilt of having simple church from the Acts model…The idea of having home church is not to rebel against the church, rather it is to grow more intimately with God and to fellowship with others in a more organic way, growing from the inside out. George Barna has written a book entitled “Revolution,” which is scheduled for release in October of this year. He has compiled statistical information about this growing trend of zealous Christians who want to glean more about their faith, even apart from the organized church. In America, Barna states that over 20 million people are essentially foregoing the religious tradition of regular church attendance for something deeper. These individuals are called Revolutionaries…

“…Many Revolutionaries have been active in good churches that have biblical preaching, people coming to Christ and being baptized, a full roster of interesting classes and programs, and a congregation packed with nice people. There is nothing overtly wrong with anything taking place at such churches. But Revolutionaries innately realize that it is just not enough to go with the flow. They are seeking a faith experience that is more robust and awe-inspiring, a spiritual journey that prioritizes transformation at every turn, something worthy of the Creator whom their faith reflects…Revolutionaries zealously pursue an intimate relationship with God, which Jesus Christ promised could have through Him. They recognize that there is a huge price to pay in this lifetime – but they are mindful of the eternal payoff, as well. Faced with an abundance of options Revolutionaries make their decisions with great care, knowing that each choice matters to God…” (Barna, 2005). Oh, by the way, Cherise and I are Revolutionaries…

Cherise and I have two teenagers who are 17 and 13 years old. As Revolutionaries, we do not condemn the church construct, as both boys regularly attend youth functions and gain greatly from having participation in these respective ministries. As Revolutionaries, we also give faithfully with our monies and prayers into eight ministries. We also faithfully abide in the Word of God. We are Board Members of another ministry, etc. Our business is a strong marketplace ministry. All of these ways of being and doing the will of God has led us to the inception of starting our own home church. Do you feel the same as we do?

After reading my last entry, it is too easy to self-promote. I am sorry if any reader felt I had done so in this journal. My intention was not to puff up our family as perfect Christians, but instead, it was to show that Revolutionaries are typically involved in the work of Christ, despite the agendas of the local church. I am drawn to the writings of Paul, “For in Christ the fullness of God lives in a human body, and you are complete through your union with Christ” (Colossians 2:9, NIV). George Barna’s work about the growing cultural war in the church is descriptive and eye-opening; it is not necessarily prescriptive with antidotes. The church is changing. In fact, it is currently shrinking in numbers and effectiveness. The statistics are quite disheartening, yet they stir up the reality that God loves His church and His hand is providentially involved in this revolution. Throughout this process, May the grace of Jesus Christ be actualized in the hearts of men and women today and forevermore…

I have been asked, “How does one walk in love?” The obvious response is that God is love and to walk in love is to be intimate with Him. After much thought about how to walk practically in love, I lean toward the footsteps that lead us to God. We must direct our lives to the things of the eternal, which in turn feeds our mind with pure joy and is free from all sadness. When we serve others in love and remain in the center of the will of God, He makes us joyful with gladness unforced…

If living out the Christian life causes you to be destitute of enthusiasm, reconsider how you are living. For the contrast to numbness is the experience of an abundant life, filled with righteousness as our true reward. My prayers today are for those who have experienced the utter devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and for those who will experience the brunt of Hurricane Rita. I pray, not at a distance, but in close proximity of their pain. Many have undoubtedly had an unexpected excision of their identity, as they have been uprooted from homes, lost their jobs, been separated from family, just to mention a few. Regardless, I pray that you can experience the love of God through suffering. He promises to provide better things for you. This message of truth and hope is quintessential to the very being of God. When shattered to bits, do we have the strength and courage to believe in God for the things that accompany salvation?

Regardless of the roughness of our nation, the one and only divine God will lead us to the will of Heaven. He shapes our rough edges by judgment, and He leads us by love through time. Count on the fact that Jesus Christ is the Great Shepherd who guides his flock unto the fountains of the waters of life. It is a time for our nation to return to God, and He promises to return to us. Pray with me, having the strong assurance that the Light of God will show our nation His righteous way…

”Nothing too bad to be incurable; nothing too good to be hope for; nothing too high to be attempted; nothing so precious that we cannot afford to give it away. Yes, even that! For there is that within the hero which is so rich that he can afford to give his very life away, and be none the poorer” (Soper, 1928).

Please read the following verses from Scripture, Matthew 6:25-34…Care is represented by Christ as one of the greatest enemies of the soul, as a conspicuous sign of faithlessness, and even a cause of ruin to the soul. The future is ordered by a power outside of us, and all efforts to shape it according to our own wishes are vain, and can only disappoint us. Such anxiety does not help but distracts and weakens. Our wisdom is to concentrate on the present duty, and by doing it with all our might we shall be better prepared to meet the future, whatever it may bring. For Jesus the world with all its dangers and accidents is overruled by God. Our part is to discern the sovereign will at work and reconcile ourselves to its providence. If we do so we shall find that the things which seem the most contrary are actually on our side, and are offered by God as means to our welfare. It is this trust in God which makes the moral task, as Jesus conceives it, one of freedom and joy.
