Married to a doctor - mother of one son - stepmother to another - we live in a beautiful home nestled at the foothills - The "boys" enjoy golf - my athletic sport is shopping and we can't forget walking our dog, Polo - however, our most precious times are around the kitchen table having a Bible study.
What is this site about? Well, here is what it is not... It is not to influence you to buy real estate. It is not to pressure you into becoming a Christian. It is not a way to manipulate God within the business industry. Simply, it is about sharing. One overlooked facet about real estate involves the personal stresses that people assume when moving from one home to another, and for many, from relocating from one state to another. That is why our family shares personally with those who are trying to connect with this new community. Purely as an option, you are welcome to comb through my husband's journal entries about faith, and hopefully, his personal insights may provide you with some encouragement.
Christ dwells in us and we grow according to our obedience in the Spirit.

Can you feel it? There is definitely a spiritual shift occurring in the climate. The time is now to be prepared for the Second Coming of Christ…”For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. I am raising up the Babylonians…” (Habakkuk 1:5-6, NIV). I, as well as many, sense that the lowly character of this nation, as a whole, will bring about the judgment of God, as it did when the Babylonians captured the tribes of Judah. The Babylonians were fierce people, merciless in their torture of men and pillage of property. Nonetheless, the Lord God Almighty permitted these brutal men to capture God’s chosen people because of their disregard for his Holy name. Do we see this similarity occurring today in our American culture? Certainly…The Word of God tells us about the things that will happen in the End Times. The impending judgment of God awaits all people. For Christians, the answer is to abide in the truth of love. “The righteous live by faith...”

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (Psalm 107:8-12, NIV).

Praise is the highest duty that any creature can discharge. Man’s chief end is to glorify God. There is no heaven either here or in the world to come for people who do not praise God. If you do not enter into the spirit and worship heaven, the spirit and joy of heaven cannot enter you!

Tonight is pivotal in the debate between George Bush and John Kerry for the Presidency of the United States. The philosophical differences between these men are startling. I read that there are about 45 million evangelical Christians who are registered to vote. During our last Presidential election, only about 7 million actually voted. Whether Democrat or Republican, I encourage each Christian to pray and to walk steadfastly to the polls and vote. Our participation in the election sets the stage for the wonders of God to work during these turbulent times. Thank you…

In order to get ahead in this life, many of us tend to do more – whether it involves attaining a higher education or working more than one job or enrolling in a self-improvement program or whatever it takes to create more opportunities. Usually we expend tremendous amounts of hard effort to “get ahead,” meaning we want to attain more money in order to get the truly good benefits out of life. Simply, money is the medium of exchange in this world. Even as Christians, we get caught up in the right ways to live and the right ways to make money and the right ways to be within the will of God. Please do not misinterpret my message today. I am not saying that living a life toward prudent measures is wrong. Instead, I strongly endorse the concept of being stretched beyond our own limitations. But one must not forget that our attempts to climb higher, to succeed more nobly, to gain more abundantly are all futile without living a life of faith. The Scriptures say it is impossible to please God without faith. How many of us are walking in the power of faith to attain the blessings of God? Not many. God is really challenging me in this area. I realize that I need to shed more of my carnality for an increased bank account of faith. I crave the kind of faith that heals people around me – the kind of faith in which people are attracted to the glory of God who resides in me. I pray for all Christians to focus on having more faith, as it is the medium of exchange in the spiritual realm. Please read (Hebrews 11) about the importance of faith.

Frankly, our family does not like Halloween. It represents the opposite of everything about the character of God. Instead of having our kids feast on the indulgence of candy, may they mimic the behaviors of their parents who practice the presence of God. “Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for He has given you the autumn rains in righteousness” (Joel 2:23, NIV).

Today is the blessed day to vote. I believe that this is a pivotal time in our history because we are not simply choosing a President, but instead, we are deciding on a way of life. I believe one candidate for President will lead our country toward the precious blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ. On the other hand, I believe that the other choice will lead our nation on a road of destruction. Regardless of who wins, I know that it is God who appoints our leaders. I pray that our nation can come to terms with the reality of God through the construct of repentance. “Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord” (Joel 1:14, NIV)! He promises to return to us when we first return to Him. I pray that our nation makes a submissive turn around toward His will for our country.

This is my first entry into this diary since beginning my 30-day prayer and fast today. Anyway -- this is a Daniel Fast, eating mostly vegetables and some fruits. But the purpose of this fast is to seek God more diligently and deeply, not to lose weight or to puff up my own self, though losing some weight would be nice. I don’t sense that this fast is about spiritual warfare, although this theme can hardly be avoided. But for my circumstances I believe God is calling me out to a further point on the cliff of belief -- and not just some ordinary belief in something, but an extraordinary belief in Jesus that is precipitated by the Holy Spirit through obedience. Similar to the story of the healing of a boy with an evil spirit in (Mark 9:24) where the father of the boy exclaimed “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Though I attempt to walk in the Spirit, I too rely on some of my fleshly instincts that deter me from God’s blessings. I want the deepest layers of control stripped from my heart. Though I do not intentionally do so, I find myself trying to fit into a box that I think God has designed for my life. I have reached the end of this season and wish to follow more freely in the light. What I now discover is a door… Jesus says, “Everything is possible for him who believes” (Mark 9:23). “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8). I am knocking and awaiting God’s voice in return…

This morning while reading (Numbers 18:7) – a feeling of displacement overcame me. My focus had changed. My spiritual man responded to what God was saying through His word versus the appetites of the carnal. I don’t want to conjure up something or manipulate my thoughts and motives in order to control the outcomes of prayer and fasting. I desire to hear the voice of God in my life. I have a true desire to give of myself fully to the kingdom of God. Spiritual breakthrough and personal expansion must exceed the “idea” stage. When truly gripped by the passion for fullness, it has led me in pursuit of this time in prayer, wanting to become more mature and more complete in Christ. For months God has put on my heart to be the priest of my home and to fully believe in His Word. When I read – “I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift…” His word lent comfort and reality. First, there was comfort, knowing that God does not want to place heavy burdens on me. “…Christ became our priest on the basis of the power of an indestructible life” (Hebrews 7:16). I understand the demand of Jesus is not certain obedience to moral or religious laws but for a new will. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). And second, the reality of knowing that God has created me especially for His kingdom rang clear as a bell within my heart. “We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands” (1 John 2:3).

A friend of mine, Pastor Tom Smith, responds from his readings of Henri Nouwen and comments about the importance of the poor to the Church. Like every human organization the Church is constantly in danger of corruption. As soon as power and wealth come to the Church, manipulation, exploitation, misuse of influence, and outright corruption are not far away. How do we prevent corruption in the Church? The answer is clear: by focusing on the poor. The poor make the Church faithful to its vocation. When the Church is no longer a church for the poor, it loses its spiritual identity. It gets caught up in disagreements, jealousy, power games, and pettiness. Paul says, "God has composed the body so that greater dignity is given to the parts which were without it, and so that there may not be disagreements inside the body but each part may be equally concerned for all the others" (1 Corinthians 12:24-25). This is the true vision. The poor are given to the Church so that the Church as the body of Christ can be and remain a place of mutual concern, love, and peace.
