Married to a doctor - mother of one son - stepmother to another - we live in a beautiful home nestled at the foothills - The "boys" enjoy golf - my athletic sport is shopping and we can't forget walking our dog, Polo - however, our most precious times are around the kitchen table having a Bible study.

What is this site about? Well, here is what it is not... It is not to influence you to buy real estate. It is not to pressure you into becoming a Christian. It is not a way to manipulate God within the business industry. Simply, it is about sharing. One overlooked facet about real estate involves the personal stresses that people assume when moving from one home to another, and for many, from relocating from one state to another. That is why our family shares personally with those who are trying to connect with this new community. Purely as an option, you are welcome to comb through my husband's journal entries about faith, and hopefully, his personal insights may provide you with some encouragement.

In the midst of change in today's market, I believe that God wants us to stand firm, fully believing in His Word. "The human life that Christ lived was His Word." God has challenged my wife and me with these very direct questions, "Do you fully believe in My Word, which is full of love, grace and covenant promises?" and -- if you believe that Christ died for your sins and has risen, "then, do you truly believe that I am acting on your behalf each day of your life?"

"Blood' & "Life" in the scriptures essentially have equivalent meaning. Both refer to the eternal life. "The blood is the life." But it is the surrendered life. "Heavenly Father - with increased knowledge of Your Son and His Blood that was shed on the Cross -- May those who visit this site receive salvation and walk with a renewed sense of direction and in fullness of Your Holy Spirit. May their minds be transformed by Your Spirit, becoming single-minded in making decisions. Help me Lord to write in these diary entries the thoughts that you want to convey to all that visit. Father- we give you the glory now and forever. Amen"

It has taken about a month to incorporate this site with Cherise's other websites -- springslife.com, springtour.com and cheriseselley.com. We are finally on course to share our hearts and prayers with those who freely visit. Though my wife closes approximately 8 million per year in sales, her main focus is to treat each client with personalized service, and knowing Cherise, she usually goes way beyond the call of duty. We want each person to know that we are praying over the business and everyone associated with it, including but not limited to lenders, title companies, sellers, buyers, inspectors, home builders, other realtors, employees, etc. We pray that the love of God will fall upon all of us. Personally we desire to share the dynamics of our family with you also. And presently, God is showing Cherise and me the importance of uniting in agreement on issues in our own marriage. We are taking a stronger stand to live by the Word of God, not by comparing the Word to our own circumstances. Thanks for visiting and feel free to email at anytime. God Bless!

Cherise and I attend New Life Church in Colorado Springs. Though it is a mega-church with outstanding programs and an emphasis on missions, the Lord keeps reminding us to Love God and to Love People. Contemplative prayer deepens in us the knowledge that we are already free, that we have already found a place to dwell, that we already belong to God, even though everything and most around us, especially during this Christmas season, keep suggesting the opposite. From this atmosphere, Cherise and I are again reminded of the fact that Deity stooped to dust in a dying world to give us one thing -- His love.

What an exciting basketball game between the 8th grade team of The Classical Academy vs. CSCS two nights ago. Our son Jake plays for CSCS and has led the team to a regular season record of 8-1. Though Jake is very gifted in athletics, it is equally gratifying to discuss the nature of winning and losing and how it glorifies God with him. We are looking forward to the playoffs this week through next. Blessings to you who visit...Cherise and I spent sometime with the Lord this morning praying for His active will in all our lives.

I've pondered on this question, "If obedience is birthed out of faith, then what kind of obedience is birthed out of human effort?" I am so thankful to God for justifying me -- soul, spirit and body -- by faith and not by the judgments of law, whether spiritually-founded or man-made. Over this Christmas season my family is praying for increased sensitivity to the Holy Spirit who dwells within... Cherise is attending her last CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) class in Denver over the next few days. Only about 5% of Realtors have this designation that requires successful completion of a number of classes and the experience of closing at least 75 transactions within 5 years. Cherise has closed more than double this requirement over the same time frame. I am very proud of her and her obedience to persevere through these courses.

Today I am asking for prayer for another couple who are looking for a home today. Last year they moved from Texas and settled in the area but recently decided to make some additional changes. This is a fine Christian couple with two children, and they are trying to make a powerful impact in our community. We pray for peace and wisdom in their decision making and financial arrangements..."The deeper we grow in the Spirit of Jesus, the poorer we become--the more we realize that everything is a gift of awareness of our poverty and ineptitude, causing us to rejoice in being called out of darkness into His light."

We had dinner with some close friends last night and spent some quality time sharing our lives with one another. As I listened to everyone chatting and telling of their daily life activities, inevitably the conversations kept circling back to our wonder of God and the amazing love demonstrated through His son. We spent much time discussing John Bevere's message about having submission to our authorities, whether they are fair or not. We realized that we must not try to always cast away our own fleshly desires, instead we have to allow His refiner's fire to crucify each one of us daily and consistently. Hope things are going well to all visitors today. I pray that as time passes I can refer to some of you as friends.

Cherise and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We plan on enjoying the holidays together in Colorado Springs, though we compete with the "time-sharing" challenges of being a blended family. After Christmas, Cherise and Kris are driving to Texas to visit grandparents while I remain behind to support Jake with his basketball games and to do the least of my favorite things -- to look after our dog, named Polo. This Christmas season seems like a challenge for those around us, full of pain, stress and despair. The things that once appeared stable are now fleeting. For those we know who were looking toward retirement and cannot because of economics, we pray for your provision. And we thank you for your sacrifices for us and the lessons we can learn from your circumstances. We look to the One who was 100% human, yet without sin, who so intricately understands all of our trials. To the One who was born during this season we so celebrate -- Thank you Jesus for your love that makes us apart of the eternal family of God...

The Lord has put on my heart that this a season in which we need to increase our prayer life. I've learned through lessons of suffering that prayer is all about God. We can be proficient in our prayer life without being profound or perfect. He keeps prompting my spirit to pray without ceasing. I am not saying to pray out loud continually, instead -- to include contemplative prayer and thanksgiving into more minutes and hours of my reality each day. "One who seeks God is an individual whose hunger exceeds his reach." I pray that your hunger for Him increases in 2003, and the answers to your prayers glorify the Father.
